The U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) issued General Decision Number MT 180080 for Highway Construction Projects effective March 2, 2018. There were numerous increases to the various worker classification wage rates and fringes amounts. In addition, USDOL issued another General Decision Number MT 180080 dated March 16, 2018 to correct an error. The city of Helena was added to the Travel Pay Zone locations for the Electrician Classification in General Decision MT 180080 dated March 16, 2018. The Federal Wage Rates found in Section II or III of the bid package proposal are hereby replaced with the attached: FEDERAL WAGE RATES

What are the acceptable tolerances (+ or -) for the application rate of emulsified asphalt-fog seal over a chip seal?

The project manager will determine the specified target rate in the field. The target rate will be modified by the project manager as necessary throughout the project upon review of the test strip and visual field assessment.

Will the MDT stockpile site south of Arlee be available for stockpiling chips for the job adjacent to the site?

The State-owned site at US 93 North MP 15.95 is available for use. An agreement will need to be entered with the MDT Maintenance Superintendent that will detail the cleanup requirements when the project is complete.
