Are there any details on the 65 approaches that get chipped sealed? How far off mainline are you planning to go on farm field and private approaches?

Place seal coat to the dimensions described in the notes for approaches on Sheet 3 and the details on Sheet 12 of the plans. The intent is to chip seal all newly placed plant mix on approaches.

There are 51 unpaved drive approaches throughout the project that call for plant mix surfacing. It doesn't appear that any gravel/grading work is accounted for in any of the quantities. How will this gravel/grading work be accounted and paid for?

The Department does not anticipate that Crushed Aggregate Course or embankment material will be needed to construct the approaches on this project. If spot location(s) of grading is required use milled material or crushed aggregate course and place to the satisfaction of the Project Manager. This work will be paid under the Grader-Motor bid item.
