The project has a bid item to Reset Impact Attenuator at approx MP 207.9. This is a authorized turn around. The exiting attenuator on the north end of this turn around is a leave as is.Please clarify the intent of the reset on the south end. If it is reset towards the north it would begin to close off the turn around. If it is to be reset more to the south it will require removal of the existing attenuator pad and a new pad to be poured. Would it be acceptable to pour a modified section of precast barrier, to attach to the attenuator in its existing place if necessary? The modified length would be between 10 and 20ft long.

A modified section of precast concrete barrier rail is acceptable in order to maintain the existing median turnaround opening.  Include the cost of the modified precast concrete barrier section in the Reset Impact Attenuator bid item.
