Is the pulverization quantity correct? There does not appear to be 48.3' of existing roadway to pulverize 1.2' deep. This also significantly impacts the grading quantities if it not correct.
Answer
Submitted: Wednesday 21-NOV-2018 03:17 PM
Pulverize to the depth shown in the plans. Blend the remaining existing material from the edge of oil to the subgrade with the pulverized material and spread to the grades shown in the plans.
An addendum will be created to change the pulverization frame to reflect pulverizing 28 ft top and 2 ft inslopes for a total of 32 ft. (191,759 yd2) and change the unclassified excavation and unclassified borrow quantitates to accurately reflect the in-place quantities.

Please provide a clarification for your answer on the previous question. The volume of pulverized material available within the template has been reduced by roughly 40%. Is the intention to supplement the pulverized material with CAC (CAC leveling) in order to reach the grades identified within the plans or drop the grades by approximately 0.2' thus decreasing the pulverized sub-base depth to .34' (Typicals 3,4,&6) and .18'(Typical 5) or ???
Answer
Submitted: Wednesday 28-NOV-2018 08:37 AM
There will be enough pulverized material to accommodate the needs of the typical sections.

Please revise the dirt run and mass diagram to reflect the revised excavation and borrow quantities. Also, 140 working days is not enough time to complete a project of this magnitude, please add 20 working days to the contract.
Answer
Submitted: Tuesday 11-DEC-2018 04:06 PM
Contract time will be revised by addendum to 160 days. Special provision No 24, Sequence of Operations, Section B has been revised adding requirement no. 9) At least one lift of plant mix surfacing must be placed on the disturbed areas of the PTW prior to winter shutdown. Contract time will continue to be charged until this condition is met.
