In the CSP summary, Station 680+37 is listed as 24" concrete class 4 but is included in the 24" CSP Summary recap. Is this Station CSP or concrete?
Answer
Submitted: Monday 18-MAR-2019 07:50 AM
The existing DBL. 18” X 53.5’ CSP in place is to be removed. The new pipe, however is specified as a drainage pipe with a couple options for pipe material. The Approach Pipe summary frame on sheet 15 specifies that either Concrete-Class 4 or Corrugated Polyethylene Pipe options can be used for the 24" pipe at Station 680+37. In the Culvert Summary Recap summary frame on sheet 17, the pipe at Station 680+37 is included in the quantity for 24" (Drainage Pipe - item number 603 010 048). The plan and profile sheet on Sheet 42 also lists this pipe as a Drainage Pipe. The cross sections on sheet 70 do as well. This bid item allows the contractor to choose from multiple pipe material options as directed in the Approach Pipe summary frame.

Would MDT allow the use of 24" CSP in addition to rcp or corrugated polyethylene pipe at station 680+37?
Answer
Submitted: Wednesday 20-MAR-2019 09:59 AM
No. A CSP is not a viable option for this long pipe as the additional roughness of the corrugations reduces performance below acceptable standards.

Special provision 48 states do not impact irrigation systems from April 15th to November 15th. How do you anticipate the contractor completing the Irrigation work that will be impacted by these dates?
Answer

It may be necessary for the contractor to provide temporary facilities and obtain appropriate permits to perform irrigation and piping work during the irrigation season. The contractor will also be required to coordinate with and obtain written authorization from the ditch companies and irrigators to allow irrigation and piping work during the irrigation season.
