Service Description: Montana Department of Transportation currently lists memorial sites and roadways with special designations that is mandated by either federal or state entities. The data represent these memorial sites and special designations Federal designations include Congressional High Priority Corridors ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CANAMEX_Corridor ) deemed important for interstate travel, while others are considered recreational. The United States Forest Service designates Scenic Byway's ( http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/r1/specialplaces/?cid=stelprdb5116110 ), whereby the Bureau of Land Management designates Back Country Byways (http://www.blm.gov/wo/st/en/prog/Recreation/recreation_national/byways.html ). The state of Montana has several designators; the Montana Legislature, the Montana Transportation Commission, and the MDT Director. The Montana Legislature recognizes the following highways or sites; Historic, Veteran Memorials, Heritage Trails, and Highway Patrol Officers.
