Questions
-1- Submitted: Wednesday 29-JUL-2015 03:00 PM Company: H L CONSTRUCTION INC Contact: Heather Long 1) The guardrail between stations 115+54 and 120+10.4, there is no detail for the OTS widening at this location. Can you please clarify the CAC and plant mix for here? 2) There is no detail that addresses how the Type 3 W-beam bridge approach section will attach to the Heart Butte Bridge. Is the contractor supposed to attach it to the bridge rail as it looks today-in the same manner? 3) The bridge on Hwy 2 over the BNSF RR at RP 223.20 will require a one-lane operation 24/7 for a few weeks. We anticipate that barrier will need to be installed. Will the contractor be able to utilize water barrier or will concrete barriers be required? Will impact attenuators be required or can the barriers be extended and angled back off to the shoulder? Submitted: Monday 03-AUG-2015 12:40 PM 1) The quantities for grading, CAC and plant mix shown between stations 115+54 and 120+10.4 include the necessary OTS widening and guardrail widening as shown in the detail drawings. 2) No, do not perpetuate the existing connection. Please refer to the Special Provision: Bridge Approach Section Connection to Existing Bridge Rail 3) Either type of barrier could be used for this application provided that the system meets NCHRP 350 or MASH requirements. Temporary end treatments meeting NCHRP 350 or MASH requirements must be installed with either system. |
